Whether you're at home or away, your Bryant standby generator is ready to assume control of your electrical needs when a power outage occurs. Within seconds, back-up electricity is provided to your home or business, restoring essential items such as lights, climate control, refrigeration, etc...

Unlike a portable generator, you don't have to go outside, run a maze of extension cords or bother with gasoline, because an automatic standby generator operates on your natural gas supply. Plus, when utility power returns, the generator automatically shuts down and waits for the next outage.

How It Works

Once your standby generator has been installed outside your home or business, the automatic transfer switch is installed next to your main distribution panel. You identify the circuits you want to protect, then you match those circuits on your distribution panel to the transfer switch's load center.

• The system provides monitoring on incoming voltage from the utility line around the clock
• When utility power is interrupted, the transfer switch senses the problem and signals for the generator to start
• The automatic transfer switch will then safely close off the utility line and open a new power line from the generator.
• Within second, your home standby system will supply electricity to your pre-selected circuits. When utility voltage returns, the transfer switch will re-transfer the electrical load back to the utility source and resume monitoring for subsequent utility loss.

Sizing a Generator

When choosing the right generator, you must first decide how many circuits or rooms in your home or business you should protect. The more circuits that require protection, the larger the generator you need.

The automatic transfer switch allows you to match the system's load center circuits to the amperage in your home's main distribution panel. Simply determine which circuits to protect during an outage and choose a generator.
